City Museum and Library

The Municipal Museum of Františkovy Lázně offers, in addition to exhibitions on the history of the city and its architecture, spas and regular events, especially at Seeberg Castle, a whole range of events with activities for the whole family – concerts of various genres, Easter butcher’s feasts, a historical fair or a Wine & Food Festival. As early as 1912, the first collection objects began to be collected among the inhabitants and were presented for the first time after the end of the First World War. After its demise, the exposition was reopened in 1961, and in 2008 the museum was moved to the former Firehouse.

The library of the city museum in Františkovy Lázně currently consists of a collection of regional literature numbering over 3,000 volumes. The focus of this collection is literature, printed and written sources for researching the history, ethnography and literature of Chebsko, an important region of Central Europe, and West Bohemian spas in the 19th and 20th centuries. Fatamorgana Museum of Illusions

The Fatamorgana Museum full of illusions located in Františkovy Lázně will not only amuse you, but will definitely surprise you. We believe that during the tour you will ask yourself several times what is reality and what is just an illusion. You become a participant in 3D images and can thus take original photos. In the same apartment hotel, you can also visit the escape game Escape Room.

Car Moto Museum

In the museum there, you will find the Auto Moto Museum with more than 100 exhibits. Veterans not only of Czech brands such as Škoda, Jawa, Tatra or the legendary Velorex known from the movie Vrchní, prchni! but also foreign brands. For example, a unique Mercedes 1938 Cabrio can be seen here.

City Theatre

The Božena Němcová Theater is a cultural city center with a rich program including drama, operetta and concerts. In addition to visiting ensembles, a local amateur theater troupe also regularly performs on the local stage.

The Mirror Labyrinth

The most visited attraction of this kind in the west of Bohemia. There is no shortage of optical illusions in the maze exhibition – 80 ingeniously placed mirrors create dead ends and unexpected corners. The mirrors also reflect endless images of each of the visitors and it takes a while to find the way out. Part of the mirror maze is the Magic Cylinder, which can confuse the head even more.

Gallery Bröms

Brömse Gallery is dedicated to the conception and implementation of exhibition projects. It follows on from the spiritual and artistic legacy of August Brömse, who came from Františkovy Lázně and was a graphic artist and painter in the 19th century, as well as a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.

Music on the colonade, Imperial Spa

Concerts in the music pavilion at the Sadová cafe or on the promenade take place in the main spa season from May to September. Furthermore, the imperial spa is perfect for concerts of early music, classical music or jazz. The hall is also used for intimate theater performances and discussions with special guests of the spa.

Exalsion of the Holy Cross Catholic Church

When Emperor Francis I visited Františkovy Lázně in 1812, the Cheb municipality demanded the construction of an appropriate spa church. The construction was carried out between 1815 and 1820 according to the plans of the c. k. court building office, worth 85,000 gold of the Viennese currency, of which 72,000 were donated by Emperor Francis I himself.

In 1814, the emperor also determined that the local spiritual administration should be led by the Order of Crusaders with the Red Star, which still administers the local parish founded in 1868.

The Orthodox Church of Saint Olga

The Church of the Holy Princess Olga of Kyiv in Františkovy Lázně is the oldest Orthodox church in the Czech Republic. It was built in the years 1887−1889 by the builder Gustav Wiedermann in the Russian-Byzantine style.

Opening hours: services on Sundays at 10:00 a.m. (Holy Liturgy). On major holidays (the Holy Liturgy on weekdays usually takes place from 9:00 a.m.).

Do you want to learn about the history of the spa town during a 20-minute journey through the center? You will find out, for example, how many healing springs you can try, where František is or when the picturesque Františkovy Lázně was founded.

By micro train to America

If you want to visit a popular excursion spot in a different way, you can go on a journey by micro-train. You can board the train at the Franciscan spa information center Milano (Máchova 8) and just enjoy the adjacent forest park until you reach the popular children’s playground with a mini zoo and continue to the Amerika pond. The red heart route also starts at the entrance to the zoo, which leads visitors back to the spa.

There are several golf courses near Františkové Lázně. The nearest 18-hole course can be found in Hazlov, about 8 km northwest of the center of Františkovy Lázně. Other playgrounds can be found near Lázní Kynžvart, Luby or Mariánské Lázní.
