The monastery of Valdsassen
The monastery of Valdsassen is a Cistercian monastery in the Bavarian town of Waldsassen, in the district of Tirschenreuth and in the Diocese of Regensburg. In the Middle Ages, it geographically belonged to the so-called Chebsk region, and this location foreshadowed its further destinies. During its tenure, the local convent founded three filiations, two of which were located in the neighboring Kingdom of Bohemia, and maintained confraternity and numerous contacts with them until the beginning of the Hussite period.
